RENISHAW PROPERTY DEVELOPMENTS
Renishaw Property Developments, a subsidiary of the JSE-listed Crookes Brothers Limited, has secured the rights to develop a significant number of sizeable properties on the mid-south coast of KwaZulu-Natal.
The vast tracks of land between Scottburgh and Umkomaas, which have long been farmed for sugar cane, have panoramic sea views and are studded with pockets of unspoiled indigenous coastal forest and grassland.
The development will be extensive and will roll out over the next 2 or 3 decades. Renishaw PropDev has received environmental approvals for varied mixed-use development including residential, educational, medical, resort, commercial, retail and light industrial nodes.
MPAMBANYONI CONSERVATION DEVELOPMENT
These developments are situated within the private Mpambanyoni Conservation Development reserve, and will all promote a principled “return to nature” theme, guided by the following values: Pioneering; Authentic; Responsible. A driving refrain is the protection and preservation of the heritage of the area for the enjoyment of future generations.
The flagship development is Renishaw Hills, a mature lifestyle gated village providing an opportunity to experience a unique and gracious retirement lifestyle on the mid-south coast of KwaZulu-Natal.
Situated on gentle east facing hillsides with breath-taking panoramic views, Renishaw Hills offers a healthy outdoor lifestyle where peace of mind, convenience and community are of overriding importance.
The surrounding conservation sanctuary provides opportunities to surround oneself in nature, with the walking trails through indigenous forest and across rolling coastal grasslands allowing close-up viewing of the vast diversity of animal, plant and birdlife in the area.
The mid-south coast location of Renishaw Hills, overlooking the beautiful seaside town of Scottburgh, just a 30-minute drive from Amanzimtoti, provides convenient access to an array of shopping facilities as well as to a number of excellent golf courses.
The majority of the residential property development will take place here. A variety of lifestyle estates from starter home to retirement are planned, including the redevelopment of the existing village. The old mill site will become a popular tourist destination for artisanal crafts.
An upmarket housing development with a modern design aesthetic that will boast stunning views towards Aliwal shoal over the Amhlongwa river lagoon. A boutique hotel, shops and community club facilities are also envisaged.
This will become the social and business hub of the development. As a gateway into the area, planned facilities include a private school, shopping centre, light commercial zones, medical and office parks.
The current site of the Crocworld conservation centre, whilst mostly earmarked for conservation, will feature a resort village and luxury villas overlooking the sea. An indigenous nursery and an equestrian centre will also be located here.
